• Health care in Poland

Health care in Poland is delivered through a publicly funded health care system, which is free for all the citizens of Poland provided they fall into the "insured" category. However, private healthcare use is very extensive in Poland. Patients who are uninsured have to pay the full cost of medical services. According to Article 68 of the Polish Constitution everyone has a right to have access to health care. Citizens are granted equal access to the publicly funded healthcare system. In particular, the government is obliged to provide free healthcare to young children, pregnant women, disabled people and to the elderly. According to a study conducted by Stratega Poland in 2013, 65% of Polish citizens and 91% of pregnant women also used private healthcare. This video is targeted to blind u...

Health Care in Poland from "International Health Care Systems". The Polish health system relies on the principle of solidarity: the National Health Fund covers the cost of the health services required by a person in case of illness regardless of the amount of social tax paid by that person. The fundamental role of primary health care is disease prevention, treatment, assistance, coordination and the integration of different services. Currently, the whole population is covered by a network of primary care physicians. In 2010, Poland had 2.1 practising physicians per 1000 inhabitants, well below the European Union average. Furthermore, the number of practising nurses per 1000 inhabitants in the country, i.e. 4.9 was also below the EU average. Health and medical care costs account for about 7...

http://www.pacificprime.com/countries/poland/ Pacific Prime is the world largest distributor of private medical insurance to individual, families and SMEs around the world. In 2013 we were rewarded as the top global distributor award for Bupa International and IHI Denmark. So what does this means? Well what we hope is that we will have the opportunity to spend 5 minutes talking to you at the start of the process when you are looking for health insurance and in that process we can understand your needs and we can start you understand the health insurance plan and how that plan is put together. So let's take an example. If you are living and working in Europe, let's say in Poland, then it is important to get a good health insurance plan. Not only to access the health care facilities in Poland, perhaps to also access the facilities in the country you come from. That could be Australia, that could me America. But getting an insurance plan which will allow you to do that is part of the process that we go through if that is important to you. So what is a healthcare plan and how was a healthcare plan put today. Normally a plan is modular, so different modules that you can possibly buy the inpatient component, the outpatient, optical dental, wellbeing maternity insurance if that is important to you, evacuation and repatriation if that is important to you, and beyond that direct billing, so if you are living and working in Poland, are you able to access that hospital or that clinic is important to you by just showing your card. Also we will consider things like covering preexisting medical conditions things such as chronic conditions. Are they covered or are they not covered is the plan guarantee renewable ? I can't go in at everything but if you are many many different aspects of a health insurance plan that could be important to you, and our job is to help you understand our plan and what is right, and then based on your needs we can selected the modules that are gone to be the most important. We will then go away and review the market to found the right plan. So we will look at Allianz Cigna, Bupa, Aetna, DKV, Axa PPP, all the brands that you have probably heard of. But we will also review perhaps plans that you have never heard of, companies like Intergra Global, InterGlobal, IMG, A la carte, these are insurers you may have never heard of but they may be good solutions for you. We will then come back to you with a limited number of options from different insurers and from different plans. And from this short list we will help you to review which plan is gone to be most suitable. So if you are already living and working in Europe, let's say Poland, and you are looking for a good health insurance plan, why not spending five minutes talking to us ? I have very confident that if you do so, you will be more like to buy the right plan for you and your family.

Video abstract of an original research paper “The employee’s productivity in the health care sector in Poland and their impact on the treatment process of patients undergoing elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy” published in the open access journal Patient Preference and Adherence by Rosiek et al. Background: Increasing the engagement of employees in the treatment process of patients may benefit a hospital and employee productivity and may result in better patient care and satisfaction with medical services. Given this, the first step in improving the quality of patient care is better availability of doctors for patients in a hospital ward. Methods: The research for this paper was conducted in six health care units in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian province in Poland. The research assessed how the elements relating to employees’ behavior and things characteristic to medical service influence patients’ willingness to recommend a hospital. Results: Patients’ perception of services is linked with the behavior of medical employees and their engagement in the treatment process. Conclusion: Our research indicates that individual employee recognition and collective recognition of hospital employees as a whole were identified as the most important factors in employee engagement in the treatment process (employee productivity) and patients’ satisfaction with medical service.
